Green Plains considers selling up to 3 additional ethanol plants On Feb. 11, Green Plains Inc. released fourth quarter 2018 financial results, reporting net income attributable to the company of $53.5 million, or $1.13 per diluted share. Aemetis begins permitting, construction of RNG project Aemetis Inc. announced Feb. 7 that it has initiated the permitting and construction phase of its multi-dairy renewable biomethane digester cluster. The project will produce RNG will be used in ethanol production or as a vehicle fuel. READ MORE SHARE

Finland to require 30% biofuel, 10% advanced biofuel by 2030 On Feb. 6, the Parliament of Finland voted in favor of a law that aims to require transportation fuel to be comprised of 30 percent biofuel by 2030, with advanced biofuels accounting for 10 percent of transportation fuel by the same year. WASDE reduces 2018/19 forecast for corn use in ethanol The USDA has reduced its 2018/2019 projection for corn use in ethanol production by 25 million bushels when compared to its December forecast in the latest edition of its World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates Report, released Feb. 8. NACS favors giving consumers options at the pump According to the NACS, the ability to sell E15 gives retailers the chance to offer their customers a wider range of fuel options. More retailers are expected to offer the fuel blend once it can be sold year round. READ MORE SHARE
Minnesota offers grants for biofuel blending infrastructure The Minnesota Department of Agriculture has opened the application process for biofuel blending infrastructure grant funding under its Agricultural Growth, Research and Innovation Program. ADM: Ethanol earnings down in fourth quarter 2018 On Feb. 5, Archer Daniels Midland Co. released fourth quarter 2018 financial results, reporting ethanol margins and volumes were down during the period in a continued weak industry pricing and margin environment. READ MORE SHARE
Senate committee advances Wheeler’s nomination to head the EPA On Feb. 5, the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works voted 11 to 10 to advance the nomination of Acting EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler to fill the post of administrator of the agency.
