USDA: Corn planting nearly complete, 56% of crop good/excellent


The USDA released an update of its weekly Crop Progress report June 24, reporting that farmers in the nation’s top 18 corn-producing states have planted 96 percent of planned corn acreage as of June 23.

Bill aims to extend biofuel, bioenergy tax credits through 2020


Rep. Mike Thompson, D-Calif., introduced the Taxpayer Certainty and Disaster Tax Relief Act of 2019 on June 18. The bill extends several biofuel- and bioenergy-related tax credits through 2020. The legislation was scheduled for markup on June 20.

US exports 150 million gallons of ethanol in April


The U.S. exported more than 150 million gallons of ethanol and nearly 918,000 tons of distillers grains in April, according to data released by the USDA FAS on June 6. Exports of both products were down when compared to April 2018.
