EPA posts call-in information for July 31 hearing on RFS proposal The U.S. EPA has posted call-in information for its July 31 hearing on the proposed rule to set 2020 renewable volume obligations (RVOs) and the 2021 RVO for biomass-based diesel under the Renewable Fuel Standard. READ MORE SHARE
DOE confirms EPA ignored recommendations on SRE applications The Department of Energy has confirmed at least one instance in which the EPA approved a SRE application despite DOE analysis that determined the refinery faced no disproportionate economic hardship due to compliance with its RFS obligations. 	New York publishes proposed rule to allow E15 sales The New York Department of Agriculture and Markets published a proposed rule July 24 to allow E15 sales within the state. The move will soon open the nation’s fourth largest gasoline market to sales of the fuel blend. READ MORE SHARE
Comment period officially opens on 2020 RFS proposal The U.S. EPA published its proposed rule to set Renewable Fuel Standard 2020 RVOs and the 2021 RVO for biomass-based diesel in the Federal Register July 29, officially opening a public comment period. EESI: Jobs in renewable fuels, biomass energy up in 2018 The Environmental and Energy Study Institute released a fact sheet on jobs in renewable energy, energy efficiency and resilience July 23 that shows U.S. jobs in renewable fuels and biomass power both increased from 2017 to 2018. Bill aims to cut corn ethanol from RFS Sens. Pat Toomey, R-Pa., and Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., have introduced a bill that aims to prevent corn ethanol from participating in the Renewable Fuel Standard. The RFA called the bill ill-conceived legislation that will prop up Big Oil. READ MORE SHARE

Valero: Ethanol earnings down, renewable diesel earnings up in Q2 Valero Energy Corp. released second quarter financial results on July 25, reporting mixed results for its biofuel segments. Income from the ethanol segment was down, but income from renewable diesel was up. Production volumes of both fuels increased. READ MORE SHARE
EPA: 37.05 million cellulosic RINs generated in June More than 1.67 billion RINs, including 37.05 million cellulosic RINs, were generated under the Renewable Fuel Standard in June, according to new data released by the U.S. EPA. RIN generation for the first half of the year reached nearly 9.64 billion. READ MORE SHARE
Airgas celebrates opening of Stockton facility Air Liquide announced July 18 that its Airgas division recently celebrated the grand opening of its new liquid carbon dioxide and dry ice facility in Stockton, California.
