EPA: 2 additional SREs filed for compliance year 2018 The U.S. EPA updated its online dashboard containing small refinery exemption (SRE) data Aug. 15, showing that two more SRE petitions have been filed for compliance year 2018. Both petitions are currently pending. READ MORE SHARE

EPA: 1.8 billion RINS generated in July The U.S. EPA has released renewable identification number (RIN) generation data for July, reporting that nearly 1.8 billion RINs were generated during the month, including 38.92 million cellulosic RINs. READ MORE SHARE
Governors ask EPA to clarify biogenic CO2 not regulated under CCA Governors representing Iowa, Indiana, Kentucky, Nebraska and North Dakota recently sent a letter to U.S. EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler urging the agency to clarify biogenic CO2 is not a pollutant subject to regulation under the Clean Air Act. UNICA: Sales of hydrous ethanol up in July UNICA, the Brazilian sugarcane industry association, has announced the volume of sugarcane processed was up during the second half of July. Sugar production was down, while ethanol production was up slightly from 2018. READ MORE SHARE
Gevo discusses plans for hydrocarbon, RNG production Gevo Inc. released second quarter financial results Aug. 14. During an earnings call, Gevo CEO Patrick Gruber discussed the company’s future plans for aviation fuel production and announced plans to launch a renewable natural gas (RNG) division. DOE seeks input on its FY 2019 EERE, BETO research priorities The Department of Energy’s Office of Efficiency and Renewable Energy is seeking public input on its EERE and Bioenergy Technologies Office research priorities, including those focused on corn fiber biofuel, food waste, data efforts and algae biomass.
