Ernst discusses SRE deal as Trump meets with Big Oil senators Trump is set to continue discussions Sept. 19 regarding the SRE reallocation proposal by meeting with Senators representing Big Oil. Walz signs executive order establishing biofuels council Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz signed an executive order Sept. 16 establishing a Governor’s Council on Biofuels that will advise the governor and state agencies on the role of biofuels in reducing GHG emissions and recommend policies to foster growth. Grassley discusses SRE reallocation proposal during media call Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, indicated the biofuels industry represented a united front at recent White House meetings related to SREs but stressed he will not announce support for the resulting policy package until it is finalized on paper. UNICA: Hydrous ethanol production sets new record UNICA, the Brazilian sugarcane industry association, has announced ethanol production was up more than 10 percent during the second half of August, with hydrous ethanol production setting a new record. READ MORE SHARE

ORLEN Poludnie to license Clariant’s sunliquid technology Clariant and ORLEN Południe signed a license agreement Sept. 20 for sunliquid cellulosic ethanol technology. Under the agreement, ORLEN Południe plans to install the sunliquid technology at a site in Poland integrated with a petroleum refinery. READ MORE SHARE
Gevo secures wind power for its Luverne plant Gevo Inc. announced Sept. 16 it secured the supply of 5 MW of fully renewable electricity for its biorefinery in Luverne, Minnesota, from an affiliate of Juhl Energy. The electricity generated from wind will be wired directly to the plant. READ MORE SHARE
