EPA to release supplemental rulemaking to account for future SREs The EPA on Oct. 4 announced plans to release its much anticipated RFS relief package but provided few details. The Andersons, Marathon Petroleum combine ethanol interests The Andersons Inc. and Marathon Petroleum Corp. have merged four ethanol entities with and into The Andersons Marathon Holdings LLC. The Andersons and Marathon Petroleum own 50.1 percent and 49.9 percent of TAMH, respectively. READ MORE SHARE
	USDA: US ethanol exports reach 122.52 million gallons in August The USDA Foreign Agricultural Service released August export data on Oct. 4, reporting that the U.S. exported 122.52 million gallons of ethanol and 1.12 million tons of distillers grains during the month. READ MORE SHARE
Little Sioux Corn Processors to add FQT’s protein technology Little Sioux Corn Processors announced Sept. 30 it will install Fluid Quip Technologies’ patented Maximized Stillage Co-Products (MSC) system at its Marcus, Iowa, ethanol plant. Minnesota accepting applications for Governor’s Biofuels Council Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz is seeking applicants for his newly formed Governor’s Biofuels Council. Members of the council will be representatives of agriculture, biofuels and transportation industries, as well as environmental and conservation groups. READ MORE SHARE
USDA: No actions expected under Feedstock Flexibility Program The USDA’s Commodity Credit Corp. announced Sept. 27 that it does not expect to purchase and sell sugar under the Feedstock Flexibility Program for crop year 2019, which coincides with fiscal year 2020. READ MORE SHARE
DOE awards $75 million to 35 bioenergy R&D projects The U.S. Department of Energy announced Oct. 1 it is awarding $73 million to 35 bioenergy research and development projects that aims to reduce the price of drop-in biofuels, lower the cost of biopower and enable the production of biomass products. STB renews charter of RETAC The STB published a notice Sept. 25 announcing it intends to renew the charter of the Rail Energy Transportation Advisory Committee. RETAC was established in 2008 and provides advice to the STB regarding the rail transportation of energy resources. READ MORE SHARE
UNICA: Hydrous ethanol sales down in first half of September UNICA, the Brazilian sugarcane industry association, recently released ethanol production and sales data for the first half of September. Ethanol production reached 2.37 billion liters (626.09 million gallons), with sales at 1.3 billion gallons. READ MORE SHARE
Ethanol producers, farmers detail negative impacts of SREs The Renewable Fuels Association hosted a conference call Oct. 3 to discuss how small refinery exemptions (SREs) are impacting ethanol plants and corn farmers and the urgent need for the White House release its biofuel relief package.
