EPA to release supplemental rulemaking to account for future SREs


The EPA on Oct. 4 announced plans to release its much anticipated RFS relief package but provided few details. The agency said a proposed rule seeking public comment on how and at what levels it should account for future SREs will be issued soon.

The Andersons, Marathon Petroleum combine ethanol interests


The Andersons Inc. and Marathon Petroleum Corp. have merged four ethanol entities with and into The Andersons Marathon Holdings LLC. The Andersons and Marathon Petroleum own 50.1 percent and 49.9 percent of TAMH, respectively.

USDA: US ethanol exports reach 122.52 million gallons in August


The USDA Foreign Agricultural Service released August export data on Oct. 4, reporting that the U.S. exported 122.52 million gallons of ethanol and 1.12 million tons of distillers grains during the month.

The STB published a notice Sept. 25 announcing it intends to renew the charter of the Rail Energy Transportation Advisory Committee. RETAC was established in 2008 and provides advice to the STB regarding the rail transportation of energy resources.

UNICA: Hydrous ethanol sales down in first half of September


UNICA, the Brazilian sugarcane industry association, recently released ethanol production and sales data for the first half of September. Ethanol production reached 2.37 billion liters (626.09 million gallons), with sales at 1.3 billion gallons.
