	Ernst, Grassley urge FDA to clarify hand sanitizer guidelines Sens. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, and Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, sent a letter to the FDC on May 26 urging the agency to clarify its temporary policy for the manufacture of alcohol-based hand sanitizer products during the COVID-19 pandemic. Rex: Production resumes at One Earth Energy ethanol plant Stuart Rose, executive chairman of Rex American Resources, announced on May 28 the company’s One Earth Energy ethanol plant in Gibson City, Illinois, has resumed operations after idling earlier this year due to market impacts caused by COVID-19. Oregon DEQ releases timeline for Clean Fuels Program expansion The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality on May 18 announced it has submitted detailed information to Gov. US ethanol production increases by 9%, stocks fall by 2% U.S. fuel ethanol production increased by more than 9 percent the week ending May 22, while weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol fell by nearly 2 percent, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on May 28. Growth Energy celebrates first anniversary of year-round E15 May 31 marks the first anniversary of the U.S. EPA’s final rule allowing American drivers to fuel up with E15, a fuel blended with 15 percent ethanol, year-round.
