Blue Flint granted $155,000 to consider biomass conversion The North Dakota Agricultural Products Utilization Commission has awarded Blue Flint $155,000 to research and conduct a feasibility study on the utilization of biomass as a fuel and power source for its 70 MMgy ethanol plant. 	US ethanol, distillers grains exports partially rebound in June The U.S. exported 78.49 million gallons of ethanol and 883,193 metric tons of distillers grains in June, according to data released by the USDA Foreign Agriculture Service on Aug. 5. Exports of both products were up when compared to May. READ MORE SHARE
The Andersons: Ethanol group profitable in Q2 The Andersons Inc. on Aug. 4 reported a profitable second quarter for all four of its business groups, including the ethanol group. The company also announced changes to its business structure, including the combining of the ethanol and trade groups. READ MORE SHARE
Green Plains focuses on high-quality alcohol, protein products Green Plains' efforts to transform its business are continuing as the company focuses on the production of high-protein ingredients and USP-grade alcohol. 	Grassley provides update of COVID-19 relief for ethanol, SREs Sen. Grassley, R-Iowa, provided an update on the potential for COVID-19 relief for ethanol producers and the status of gap year small refinery exemption (SRE) petitions during a press call held on Aug. 4. READ MORE SHARE
House members advocate for COVID-19 relief for biofuels A group of 32 members of the U.S. House of Representatives sent a letter to House and Senate leadership on Aug. 7 urging them to include much-needed assistance for biofuels in the phase four COVID-19 relief bill, which is currently being negotiated. ACE: Legislation would require EPA to update GREET Sen. John Thune, R-S.D., has introduced the Adopt GREET Act, which would require U.S. EPA to update its decade-old greenhouse gas lifecycle modeling for ethanol and biodiesel. ACE is speaking out in support of the bill. READ MORE SHARE
EIA: US ethanol production falls 3%, ending stocks up slightly U.S. ethanol production fell by nearly 3 percent the week ending July 31, while weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol increased slightly, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Aug. 5. READ MORE SHARE
EPA approves efficient producer pathway for Iowa plant The U.S. EPA has approved an efficient producer pathway for Flint Hills Resources LLC’s 125 MMgy ethanol plant located in Shell Rock, Iowa. The approval allows the facility to generate RINs for non-grandfathered volumes of ethanol. READ MORE SHARE
