EPA: 12 more SRE petitions filed, 98 now pending The U.S. EPA on Aug. 20 released updated SRE data, showing that small refiners have filed 12 additional SRE petitions, including nine “gap year” petitions. Lawmakers urge Lighthizer to press Brazil on ethanol tariffs A group of 20 members of Congress representing ethanol- and corn-producing regions sent a letter to U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer on Aug. 20 asking him to urge his counterparts in Brazil to terminate tariffs on U.S. ethanol. EIA: Ethanol production up 1%, ending stocks up 3% U.S. ethanol production increased by nearly 1 percent the week ending Aug. 14, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Aug. 19. Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol were up nearly 3 percent. READ MORE SHARE
EPA seeks nominations for Science Advisory Board, SAB committees The U.S. EPA is seeking nominations for scientific experts from a diverse range of disciplines to be considered for appointment to the EPA Science Advisory Board and four SAB standing committees. Aemetis completes construction of phase one RNG project Aemetis Inc. has completed of construction of the first two dairy digesters and four mile pipeline for the production of RNG. The project will supply RNG to displace natural gas use at the Keyes ethanol plant and for use as a transportation fuel. READ MORE SHARE

Novozymes sources steam from biomass-fired Asnæs Power Station Danish power company Orsted announced on Aug. 21 the inauguration of its biomass-fired Asnæs Power Station. UNICA: Ethanol exports, sales for non-fuel uses up in July UNICA, the Brazilian sugarcane industry association, has announced overall ethanol sales in July were down. Sales of ethanol for non-fuel uses and exports, however, were up. Corn ethanol production also increased when compared to July 2019. READ MORE SHARE
