The U.S. EPA on Jan. 15 announced it is proposing changes to E15 fuel dispenser labeling requirements. The agency is also proposing to modify underground storage tank regulations to accommodate the safe storage of E15 and higher level blends.

EPA proposes to extend 2019, 2020 RFS deadlines


The U.S. EPA is scheduled to publish a proposed rule in the Federal Register on Jan. 15 extending certain Renewable Fuel Standard deadlines for compliance years 2019 and 2020. A public comment period is open through March 11.

Green Plains completes York USP upgrade


Green Plains Inc. has announced the completion of its upgrade to USP grade alcohol at its York, Nebraska biorefinery. The York upgrade included the installation of a new distillation production unit, and remains capable of producing up to 50 MMgy.

EIA: Ethanol production up 1%, stocks up 2%


U.S. ethanol production was up nearly 1 percent the week ending Jan. 8, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Jan. 13. Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol increased by nearly 2 percent.

EIA: Ethanol production to average 1.02M barrels per day in 2022


The U.S. EIA has released is Short-Term Energy Outlook for January, The EIA currently predicts ethanol production will average 1.02 million barrels per day next year, up from 980,000 barrels per day in 2021.
