CHS expands E15 availability through additional fuel terminals


CHS Inc. has announced it will expand access to higher ethanol blend fuels by offering E15 through 10 additional fuel terminals starting in early April 2021. The company has offered E15 through its McFarland, Wisconsin, terminal since January 2021.

The EPA on March 23 published a rule extending the RFS compliance and attest engagement deadlines for 2020. The attest engagement deadline for 2021 was also extended, along with the 2019 compliance and attest engagement deadlines for small refiners.

EIA: Ethanol production down 5%, stocks up 2%


U.S. ethanol production fell by 5 percent the week ending March 19, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on March 24. Fuel ethanol stocks were up more than 2 percent.

Sens. Tina Smith, D-Minn.; and Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.V.; on March 25 introduced the Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage Tax Credit Amendments Act. The Carbon Capture Coalition and Growth Energy have spoken out in support of the bill.

Green Plains Inc. on March 23 announced that its subsidiary, Green Plains Ord LLC, has completed the previously announced sale of its ethanol plant located in Ord, Nebraska, to GreenAmerica Biofuels Ord LLC for $64 million, plus working capital.
