Even amidst pandemic, Iowa E15 sales surge to new record in 2020


Sales of E15 jumped 24 percent and set a new record in Iowa in 2020, despite the pandemic-related drop in overall fuel consumption, according to data released by the Iowa Department of Revenue. E15 and E85 sales in other states generally held steady.

ADM plans restart of 2 ethanol dry mills


ADM on April 1 announced plans to restart ethanol production at its Vantage Corn Processors dry mills in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Columbus, Nebraska. The plants are expected to begin corn grind immediately.

U.S. agriculture producers intend to plant an estimated 91.1 million acres of corn in 2021, up less than 1 percent when compared to last year, according to the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service’s March 31 Prospective Plantings report.

U.S. ethanol production increased by nearly 5 percent the week ending March 26, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on March 31. Fuel ethanol stocks were down more than 3 percent.
