Supreme Court hears arguments in SRE challenge The U.S. Supreme Court on April 27 heard oral arguments pertaining its pending review of the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeal’s January 2020 ruling on SREs. Indiana governor vetoes E15 label bill Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb on April 26 vetoed a bill that would have implemented additional labeling requirements for fuel pumps that sell E15. In his veto message, Holcomb called the requirement “unnecessary and confusing.” READ MORE SHARE

Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich., and Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, questioned U.S. EPA Administrator Michael Regan on his agency’s views towards biofuels and the RFS during an April 28 hearing held by the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works. Alto Ingredients enters into agreement to sell its Madera plant Alto Ingredients Inc. has signed a definitive agreement with Seaboard Energy California LLC to sell its fuel ethanol production facility in Madera, California, for total consideration of $28.3 million. EIA: US ethanol production up slightly, stocks down 4% U.S. ethanol production was up slightly the week ending April 23, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on April 28. Fuel ethanol stocks were down nearly 4 percent from the previous week. READ MORE SHARE
Novozymes: Bioenergy sales down 9% for Q1 Novozymes released first quarter financial results on April 27, reporting overall organic sales growth of 3 percent despite a 9 percent reduction in bioenergy sales. Bioenergy sales to customers outside the U.S., however, were up. READ MORE SHARE
