USDA to provide $700 million in COVID-19 relief for biofuels The USDA announced on June 15 it will provide $700 million in COVID-19 relief to biofuel producers as part of the Pandemic Assistance for Producers initiative. White House OMB reveals expected timelines of 2 RFS rules The Biden administration has signaled its intent to issue a notice of proposed rulemaking to develop post-2022 RFS regulations before the end of 2021. A proposed rule to set annual RFS RVOs for 2021 and 2022 is expected to be released in July 2021. READ MORE SHARE
	EPA: 1.71 billion RINs generated in May The U.S. EPA has released data showing nearly 1.71 billion renewable identification numbers (RINs) were generated under the Renewable Fuel Standard in May, up from 1.26 billion generated during the same month of last year. READ MORE SHARE
Biofuels account for 17% of US renewables consumption in 2020 The U.S. consumed a record 12 percent of renewable energy in 2020, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on June 16. Biofuels announced for approximately 17 percent of renewables. READ MORE SHARE
Green Plains selects Fagen for ultra-high protein buildout Green Plains Inc. has selected Fagen Inc. as the general contractor to construct and install Fluid Quip Technologies’ MSC system for its biorefining platform. 	Minnesota bill would allocate $6M to biofuel infrastructure The Minnesota House of Representatives on June 19 voted 112 to 20 to pass an omnibus agriculture bill that includes $6 million to support the development of biofuel infrastructure to supply E15 blends of fuel. READ MORE SHARE
ICM becomes exclusive distributor of VFT’s fiber reactor ICM Inc. has signed an agreement with Visionary Fiber Technologies Inc. to be the exclusive distributor and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for its fiber reactor separation technology in the ethanol space. EPA: No new SRE petitions filed, 70 SRE petitions still pending Data published by the U.S. EPA on June 17 shows that no new SRE petitions have been filed under the RFS in the past month. The data also indicates no changes have been made to the status of 70 pending SRE petitions. READ MORE SHARE
EIA: Ethanol production up 4%, stocks up 3% U.S. fuel ethanol production fell by nearly 4 percent the week ending June 11, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on June 16. Weekly ending stocks of ethanol were up more than 3 percent. READ MORE SHARE
Biofuel groups ask EPA to resist calls for RFS waivers Fuels America, NFU, Growth Energy, RFA, NCGA, NBB and ABBC on June 17 sent a letter to U.S. EPA Administrator Michael Regan and National Economic Council Director Brian Deese urging them to resist calls by the oil industry to waive or weaken the RFS.
