USDA: US ethanol exports reach 82 million gallons in June The U.S. exported 81.86 million gallons of ethanol and 939,177 metric tons of distillers grains in June, according to data released by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service on Aug. 5. 	The Andersons: Ethanol segment reports best Q2 since 2014 The Andersons Inc. released second quarter financial results on Aug. 3, reporting its ethanol segment generated $23.5 million of pretax income during the period. Green Plains launches turnkey solution for MSC protein technology Green Plains Inc. has announced a turnkey solution for the installation of Fluid Quip Technologies’ MSC system to exclusive partners. Proposed EPA vehicle emissions standards fail to address biofuels The U.S. EPA on Aug. 5 released a proposed rule to set light-duty vehicle GHG emissions standards through 2026. Ethanol groups to Biden: Biofuels can reduce GHG emissions now President Biden on Aug. 5 signed an executive order that sets a target to make half of all new vehicles sold in 2030 zero-emissions vehicles. EIA: Ethanol production, stocks fall slightly U.S. fuel ethanol production was down slightly the week ending July 30, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Aug. 4. Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol also fell slightly. READ MORE SHARE
Alto Ingredients discusses intention to sell Stockton plant Alto Ingredients Inc. released Q2 financial results on Aug. 3, reporting that specialty alcohol accounted for more than one-third of the ethanol it sold during the period. Company officials also discussed plans to sell the company’s Stockton plant. READ MORE SHARE
Summertime E15 ban would cause severe impact to rural economy The recent D.C. Circuit Court decision overturning EPA’s approval of year-round E15 sales could have a strongly negative impact on the rural economy and environment in the coming years unless action is taken to allow unimpeded sales of E15. ICM announces deal with Neomille to design plant in Brazil ICM has signed an agreement with Neomille, a subsidiary of Cerradinho Bioenergia, to design a bio-refinery in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul.
