EIA increases 2022 ethanol production forecast The U.S. Energy Information Administration increased its forecast for 2022 ethanol production in its latest Short-Term Energy Outlook, released Aug. 10. The forecasts for 2021 ethanol production and 2021 and 2022 ethanol blending were maintained. READ MORE SHARE
Novozymes: Bioenergy sales up 54% in Q2 Novozymes released second quarter financial results on Aug. 12, reporting that sales for its bioenergy segment were up 54 percent when compared to the same period of last year. Bioenergy sales for the first half of 2021 were up 16 percent. READ MORE SHARE
	Infrastructure package neglects biofuels, includes CCS support The U.S. Senate on Aug. 10 passed a $1 trillion infrastructure bill by a vote of 69 to 30. Ethanol groups are criticizing the bill for failing to address low-carbon fuels. The bill does, however, include provisions related to CCS. READ MORE SHARE
RFA to the Biden: Choose US farm fields over OPEC+ oil fields In response to an announcement by the White House calling on OPEC+ member countries to increase oil output, the RFA sent a letter to President Biden supporting the administration’s call for an investigation into the true causes of high gas prices. Aemetis provides update of advanced biofuel, CCS projects Aemetis Inc. released second quarter financial results on Aug. 12, providing updates on its renewable natural gas (RNG) and carbon capture and storage (CCS) initiatives and discussing ongoing improvements at its Keyes, California, ethanol plant. 	EIA: US ethanol production down 3%, stocks down 2% U.S. fuel ethanol production fell by nearly 3 percent the week ending Aug. 6, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Aug. 11. Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol were down 2 percent. READ MORE SHARE
Gevo expands scope of proposed Net Zero 1 project Patrick Gruber, CEO of Gevo Inc., provided an update of the company’s proposed Net Zero 1 biorefinery during a second quarter earnings call held Aug. 12. The company is expanding the scope of the facility, he said. READ MORE SHARE
EIA: US biofuel capacity, feedstock consumption up in May U.S. biofuel production capacity expanded slightly in May, reaching 20.795 billion gallons, up from 20.777 billion gallons in April. Total feedstock consumption was approximately 26.768 billion pounds in May, up from 24.296 billion pounds in April. READ MORE SHARE
