Minnesota takes initial steps to develop new Clean Fuel Standard Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz on Oct. 7 directed state agencies to explore ways to reduce climate change impacts from transportation fuels. Growth Energy petitions SCOTUS to review E15 ruling Growth Energy on Oct. 4 filed a petition with SCOTUS asking the court to review a July 2 decision handed down by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit that vacated a 2019 rule issued by the U.S. EPA allowing year-round sales of E15. READ MORE SHARE
	U.S. DDGS exports hit 6-year high, ethanol shipments increase According to the RFA, distillers grains exports spiked to 1.24 million metric tons in August, the highest volume since 2015, with much of the growth occurring outside of what are traditionally the largest markets. Gevo partners with Kiewit on Net-Zero 1 project Gevo Inc. has engaged Kiewit Energy Group Inc. to lead the front-end engineering design (FEED) effort for its Net-Zero 1 Project in Lake Preston, South Dakota. Gevo also expects Kiewit to serve as the project's EPC contractor. READ MORE SHARE
USGC: US ethanol exports record fifth-highest year The marketing year ended Aug. 31, for which numbers became available this week, recording the fifth highest overall export total for U.S. ethanol exports, 1.31 billion gallons, despite market challenges due to COVID-19. READ MORE SHARE
	USDA expects no actions under Feedstock Flexibility Program The USDA’s Commodity Credit Corp. announced on Sept. 30 that it does not expect to purchase and sell sugar under the Feedstock Flexibility Program for crop year 2021, which runs from Oct. 1, 2021 through Sept. 30, 2022. READ MORE SHARE
Report: Ethanol production in Argentina forecast up in 2021 Ethanol production in Argentina continues to suffer from the negative market impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a recent report filed by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service’s Global Agricultural Information Network. UNICA: Domestic ethanol sales down in early September UNICA, the Brazilian sugarcane industry association, has released data showing domestic ethanol sales were down during the first half of September. The production and sale of anhydrous ethanol, however, continued to remain high. READ MORE SHARE
Record grants support RFA ethanol safety training programs Two grant awards totaling a record $175,000 will help the Renewable Fuels Association continue its award-winning ethanol safety programs into the next year. EPA approves RFS fuel pathway for Kansas ethanol plant According to the EPA, corn ethanol produced via Kansas Ethanol’s dry mill process achieves a GHG reduction of 45.6 percent, while its grain sorghum ethanol process will achieve a 50 percent reduction. READ MORE SHARE
