Supreme Court extends deadline in challenge to E15 ruling The U.S. Supreme Court on Nov. 9 approved a motion delaying the deadline for the government to respond to a petition filed by Growth Energy on Oct. 4 seeking review of a lower court’s decision to vacate a rule allowing year-round sales of E15. EIA: Ethanol production falls 6%, stocks up 1% U.S. fuel ethanol production fell by 6 percent the week ending Nov. 5 following three weeks of near-record production levels, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Nov. 10. USDA increases forecast for corn use in ethanol The USDA increased its forecast for 2021-’22 corn use in ethanol in its latest World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates report, released Nov. 9. The agency is also predicting a record corn yield of 177 bushels per acre. READ MORE SHARE
EIA maintains forecast for 2022 ethanol production The U.S. Energy Information Administration maintained its forecast for 2021 ethanol production, but slightly reduced its production forecast for next year in its latest Short-Term Energy Outlook, released Nov. 9. READ MORE SHARE
