RFA: More MY 2022 vehicles approved for E15, fewer FFVs According to a new analysis of model-year 2022 vehicle owners’ manuals and warranty statements by the Renewable Fuels Association, nearly all new automobiles are explicitly approved by the manufacturer to use E15. READ MORE SHARE
EPA’s final vehicle emissions rule fails to address biofuels The EPA on Dec. 20 issued a final rule setting GHG emissions standards for MY 2023-2026 passenger cars and light trucks. 	Klobuchar, Grassley introduce Defend the Blend Act Sens. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., and Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, on Dec. 14 introduced a bill that aims to prohibit the U.S. EPA from retroactively reducing RFS RVOs. A companion bill is pending in the U.S. House of Representatives. READ MORE SHARE

	ICM to construct wheat protein facility next to ethanol plant ICM has signed an agreement with an affiliate of Summit Agricultural Group to develop a wheat protein ingredients production facility next to Prairie Horizon Agri-Energy. Residual starch produced at the facility will be used as biofuel feedstock. READ MORE SHARE
New Zealand to implement sustainable biofuels mandate The government of New Zealand on Dec. 15 announced plans to implement a sustainable biofuels mandate based on greenhouse gas (GHG) reductions beginning at a 1.2 percent GHG reduction in 2023 that could ramp up to 9 percent in 2035. EIA: US ethanol production down slightly, stocks up 2% U.S. fuel ethanol production was down slightly the week ending Dec. 10, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Dec. 15. Stocks of fuel ethanol were up 2 percent for the week. READ MORE SHARE
Aemetis signs agreement for 450M gallons of renewable diesel Aemetis Inc., a renewable fuels company focused on negative carbon intensity products, has signed a 10-year, 450-million-gallon renewable diesel supply agreement with an industry-leading travel stop company. READ MORE SHARE
Novozymes, Saipem collaborate on CO2 capture Novozymes and Saipem have signed a collaboration agreement for the development of innovative solutions for enzymatic carbon capture. Saipem will provide process, mechanical and equipment design, while Novozymes will provide enzymes for the process. READ MORE SHARE
EU fines Abengoa for participation in ethanol cartel The European Commission on Dec. 10 announced it is fining Spain-based Abengoa S.A. and its subsidiary Abengoa Bioenergia S.A. EUR 20 million for participating in a cartel that fixed the benchmarks used to set wholesale ethanol prices in Europe. READ MORE SHARE
