Kentucky begins Renewable Chemical Production Program


Kentucky companies can now apply for the state’s Renewable Chemical Production Program. The program incentivizes the production of more than 30 specified chemicals derived from biomass feedstocks. Applications must be filed by Jan. 15, 2022.

EIA: Ethanol production up 1%, stocks down slightly


U.S. ethanol production expanded by nearly 1 percent the week ending Dec. 24, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Dec. 29. Stocks of fuel ethanol were down slightly.

USDA awards fiscal year 2022 market development funds to USGC


USDA FAS in December awarded fiscal year 2022 funding to more than 60 U.S. agricultural organizations to help expand commercial export markets for U.S. goods. The U.S. Grains Council was awarded more than $9.69 million to support its work.

The USDA recently released its Grain Crushings and Co-Products Production report for December, reporting that corn use for fuel ethanol production in October was up significantly from both the previous month and the same period of 2020.

USDA expects no actions under Feedstocks Flexibility Program


The USDA’s Commodity Credit Corp. announced Dec. 23 that it does not expect to purchase and sell sugar under the Feedstock Flexibility Program for crop year 2021, which runs from Oct. 1, 2021 through Sept. 30, 2022.
