Court approves agreement requiring EPA to finalize RVOs by June 3 The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia on April 22 approved a consent decree that requires the U.S. EPA to finalize its 2020-2022 renewable fuel obligations (RVOs) under the Renewable Fuel Standard by June 3, 2022. Ricketts signs bill creating tax credit for higher ethanol blends Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts on April 19 signed legislation that provides tax credits for fuel retailers that sell E15 or higher blends of ethanol. The credit is 5 cents per gallon of E15 and 8 cents per gallon of E25 or higher blends sold. READ MORE SHARE
	EPA: 1.82 billion RINs generated in March The U.S. EPA has released updated renewable identification number (RIN) data, reporting that 1.82 billion RINs were generated under the RFS in March, up from 1.65 billion that were generated during the same month of last year. READ MORE SHARE

Aemetis set to launch phase two of biogas production The Aemetis Biogas subsidiary is ready to launch Phase 2 biogas production by completing construction of its third digester and successfully testing the 7-mile biogas pipeline section to be used by the next five dairy digesters. READ MORE SHARE
	UNICA issues ethanol production, sales data for 2021-’22 harvest UNICA, the Brazilian sugarcane industry association, has released final data for the 2021-’22 harvest season, which ended March 31. Sugarcane processing and the production of sugarcane ethanol were down for the year. Corn ethanol production was up. READ MORE SHARE
EPA: No new SRE petitions filed, 69 SREs remain pending The U.S. EPA released updated SRE data on April 21, reporting for the third consecutive months that no new SRE petitions were filed under the Renewable Fuel Standard. EIA: Ethanol production down 5 percent, stocks down 2% U.S. fuel ethanol production was down nearly 5 percent the week ending April 15, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on April 20. Ethanol stocks were down approximately 2 percent. READ MORE SHARE
Corn ethanol’s energy balance is strong, continues to improve Today’s corn ethanol now provides nearly three times the energy used to produce it, according to a new analysis by the Renewable Fuels Association, with some biorefineries approaching a four-to-one energy ratio. READ MORE SHARE
Green Plains achieves 60% protein concentration Green Plains Inc. on April 20 announced that product and technology innovation efforts have led to the production of greater than 60 percent protein concentrations with yields as high as 4 pounds per bushel at its Wood River, Nebraska, biorefinery.
