Carbon America plans CCS projects at 2 Colorado ethanol plants Carbon America announced on May 12 agreements with Sterling Ethanol LLC and Yuma Ethanol LLC to develop CCS projects at two Colorado ethanol production facilities. Summit Carbon Solutions completes $1 billion equity raise Summit Carbon Solutions, the deveoper of a large scale CCS project in the Midwest, on May 11 announced the successful completion of its equity fundraising efforts, which have resulted in over $1 billion in total equity commitments. 2022-’23 corn use in ethanol forecast at 5.375 billion bushels The USDA predicts that 2022-’23 corn use in ethanol will be flat with 2021-’22 in its latest World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates report, released May 12. 	EPA seeks comments on candidates for peer review of RFS report The U.S. EPA on May 9 opened a 15-day public comment period on the pool of 20 candidates who have been selected to serve on an external expert panel to peer review the EPA’s third triennial report to Congress on biofuels and the environment. EIA: Ethanol production up 2%, stock up 1% U.S. fuel ethanol production expanded by more than 2 percent the week ending May 6, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on May 11. Stocks were up more than 1 percent for the week. READ MORE SHARE
Aemetis reports progress with biogas, SAF projects Aemetis Inc. released Q1 2022 financial results on May 12, confirming that the company’s corn ethanol plant in Keyes, California, is operating at near capacity and discussing progress with the company’s RNG, SAF, renewable diesel and CCS projects.
