EPA to release 2023 RFS proposed rule by Nov. 30 The U.S. EPA and Growth Energy filed a notice with the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia on Nov. 4 agreeing to extend the Nov. 16 deadline for the release of a proposed rule to set 2023 RFS RVOs. Biofuel groups call GAO report on SREs shoddy, obsolete Representatives of the biofuels industry are slamming a report on the Renewable Fuel Standard’s small refinery exemption (SRE) program released by the U.S. Government Accountability Office on Nov. 3, calling the report shoddy and obsolete. 	USDA: US ethanol exports up in September The U.S. exported 100.4 million gallons of ethanol and 877,745 metric tons of distillers grains in September, according to data released by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service on Nov. 3. Shell and Raízen sign large cellulosic ethanol deal Shell has agreed to buy a total of 3.25 billion liters of sugar-cane cellulosic ethanol under a long-term agreement with Brazil’s Raízen. The low-carbon fuel is expected to be produced by five plants that Raízen plans to build in Brazil. READ MORE SHARE
Green Plains reports progress with MSC, clean sugar projects Green Plains Inc. reported a challenging Q3, with a consolidated crush margin of negative 9 cents per gallon. 	Aemetis discusses progress with ethanol, biogas projects Aemetis Inc. released third quarter financial results on Nov. 3, reporting a 44 percent increase in revenue. RFA, allies urge Congress to act swiftly to avoid rail shutdown The Renewable Fuels Association and nearly 200 other organizations representing a broad swath of the agricultural value chain have urged Congress to act quickly to prevent a rail strike and service shutdown on Nov. 19. READ MORE SHARE

Novozymes reports 32% increase in bioenergy sales in Q3 Novozymes released Q3 financial results on Nov. 3, reporting that bioenergy sales were up 32 percent for the three-month period and 26 percent for the first nine months of the year. EIA: Ethanol production up 1%, stocks down slightly U.S. fuel ethanol production was up nearly 1 percent the week ending Oct. 28, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Nov. 2. Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol were down slightly. READ MORE SHARE
IEA report outlines growth potential for liquid biofuels The International Energy Agency on Oct. 27 released its World Energy Outlook 2022. The report, in part, predicts global biofuel consumption could more than double by 2030 and continue to increase through 2050. READ MORE SHARE
