EPA’s RFS ‘set’ rule boosts RVOs through 2025, addresses eRINs The U.S. EPA on Dec. 1 released its long-awaited RFS “set” rule, which includes RVOs for 2023, 2024 and 2025. Biden signs legislation to avoid rail strike President Joe Biden on Dec. 2 signed legislation to implement tentative agreements reached between railroads and workers in September, avoiding an economically devastating rail strike that was set to begin Dec. 9. READ MORE SHARE
	Fischer introduces bill to ensure year-round availability of E15 Sen. Deb Fischer, R-Neb., on Nov. 29 introduced the Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act of 2022. EIA: US ethanol blending reaches a new high during summer 2022 Last summer, when the price of fuel ethanol was lower than the petroleum component of gasoline, record amounts of ethanol were blended into the gasoline sold in the U.S. The blend rate reached 10.5 percent, according to the U.S. EIA. ACE to IRS: Consider climate smart ag under clean fuel tax credit The American Coalition for Ethanol submitted feedback Dec. 2 to the Internal Revenue Service request for comment on implementation of the new clean fuel tax credit (§45Z) contained in the Inflation Reduction Act. READ MORE SHARE
	RFA comments on IRA’s clean fuel production, CCUS credits As federal agencies continue to work on implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act, the RFA has filed two sets of comments to the Internal Revenue Service, related to credits for carbon sequestration and clean fuel production. EIA: Ethanol production down 2%, stocks up 1% U.S. fuel ethanol production was down 2 percent the week ending Nov. 25, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Nov. 30. Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol were up nearly 1 percent. READ MORE SHARE
Ethanol groups suggest improvements for HBIIP program Representatives of the ethanol industry filed public comments with the USDA ahead of a Nov. 28 deadline highlighting ways the agency can maximize the impact of $500 million in biofuel infrastructure funding appropriated by the IRA.
