Craig introduces a bill to ensure year-round availability of E15 Reps. Angie Craig, D-Minn., and Adrian Smith, R-Neb., on Dec. 7 introduced the Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act of 2022. The bill aims to allow the year-round sale of E15 nationwide. Compaion legislation is pending in the U.S. Senate. READ MORE SHARE
OMB reviews E15 petition filed by Midwest governors The U.S. EPA on Dec. 5 delivered a proposed rule to the White House Office of and Management and Budget related to a petition filed by several Midwest governors seeking a solution to year-round E15 sales in their states. READ MORE SHARE
	USDA: Exports of ethanol, distillers grains down in October The U.S. exported 83.77 million gallons of ethanol and 798,100 metric tons of distillers grains in October, according to data released by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service on Dec. 6. Exports of both products were down. READ MORE SHARE
FTC issues annual report on ethanol market concentration The FTC on Dec. 2 issued its 2022 Report on Ethanol Market Concentration. As in prior years, the FTC’s analysis determined that there is sufficient competition among industry participants to avoid price-setting other anticompetitive behavior. READ MORE SHARE
USDA maintains forecast for corn use in ethanol in December WASDE The USDA maintained its forecast for 2022-’23 corn use in ethanol in its latest World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates report, released Dec. 9. The 2022-’23 outlook for corn is for lower exports and greater ending stocks. READ MORE SHARE
	Rex reports profitable Q3, announces progress with CCS project Rex American Resources released fiscal Q3 results on Dec. 1, reporting increased sales for the three-month period ending Oct. 31. Executive Chairman Stuart Rose said the company remains profitable moving into Q4 despite challenging crush spreads. READ MORE SHARE
EIA increases forecast for 2022 ethanol production The U.S. Energy Information Administration increased its forecast for 2022 fuel ethanol production in its latest Short-Term Energy Outlook, released Dec. 6. The forecast for 2023 fuel ethanol production was maintained. READ MORE SHARE
Clariant provides update on sunliquid plant in Romania Clariant on Dec. 12 announced that its sunliquid plant in Romania has not yet achieved the targeted yields and other operational parameters on an industrial scale. EIA: Ethanol production up 6%, stocks up 1% U.S. ethanol production was up 6 percent the week ending Dec. 2, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Dec. 7. Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol were up 1 percent. READ MORE SHARE
Virgin Atlantic to purchase 70 million gallons of SAF Virgin Atlantic on Dec. 6 announced the purchase of 10 million U.S. gallons per annum of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to be produced by Gevo Inc. and supplied by Virgin Atlantic’s joint venture partner, Delta Air Lines. READ MORE SHARE

EIA: Biofuel capacity up in September, feedstock consumption down U.S. biofuels operable production capacity increased slightly in September, according to data released by the U.S. EIA on Nov. 30.
