Court suspends RFS obligations for 2 small refineries The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit on Jan. 27 suspended Renewable Fuel Standard compliance obligations for two refineries that were denied small refinery exemptions (SREs) by the U.S. EPA last year. READ MORE SHARE
Novozymes: Bioenergy sales up 25% in 2022 Novozymes released 2022 financial results on Jan. 26, reporting a 25 percent increase in bioenergy sales when compared to 2021. Total sales for the company were up 9 percent in 2022 when compared to the previous year. READ MORE SHARE

Illinois lawmakers approve $1.50 per gallon SAF tax credit Both houses of the Illinois General Assembly on Jan. 10 approved a legislative package that, in part, creates a $1.50 per gallon tax credit for SAF. The legislation must now be signed by Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker. READ MORE SHARE

ADM’s ethanol operations impacted by low margins Archer Daniel Midlands Co. released fourth quarter financial results on Jan. 26, reporting that the company’s ethanol-related business segments were negatively impacted by low ethanol margins and high inventory levels. READ MORE SHARE
Valero reports profitable Q4 for renewable diesel, ethanol Valero Energy Corp. sold a record volume of renewable diesel during the fourth quarter of 2022 thanks to the November startup of the Diamond Green Diesel biorefinery in Port Arthur, Texas. EIA: Ethanol production up slightly, stocks up 7% U.S. fuel ethanol production was up slightly the week ending Jan. 20, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Jan. 25. Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol expanded by more than 7 percent. READ MORE SHARE
