The USDA recently released its Grain Crushings and Co-Products Production report for February, reporting that corn use for ethanol production was up in December when compared to both the previous month and December 2022.
Research from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and UC Davis sheds new light on how to access the sugars locked up in plants to produce petroleum-free fuels, chemicals, and medicines.
Carbon Capture Magazine has announced the dates for the third annual National Carbon Capture Conference & Expo. The event will be held November 19-20, 2024, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, at the Saint Paul RiverCentre. The National Hydrogen Conference & Expo has been added to the conference as a co-located event. A call for abstracts is now open for both events through July 21st.
With carbon capture and sequestration pipeline projects delayed, ethanol producers are finding—and adding—carbon utilization technology platforms of all kinds.
The U.S. exported 155.64 million gallons of ethanol and 992,827 metric tons of distillers grains in December, according to data released by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service on Feb. 7. Exports of both products were up.

Capturing and storing carbon dioxide in underground wells has the potential to become the most consequential technological deployment in the history of the broader biofuels industry. Deploying effective carbon capture and storage at biofuels plants will cement ethanol and biodiesel as the lowest carbon liquid fuels commercially available in the marketplace. The Carbon Capture & Storage Summit will offer attendees a comprehensive look at the economics of carbon capture and storage, the infrastructure required to make it possible and the financial and marketplace impacts to participating producers.View More

Produced by Carbon Capture Magazine and BBI International, the National Carbon Capture Conference & Expo is a two-day event designed specifically for companies and organizations advancing technologies and policy that support the removal of carbon dioxide (CO2) from all sources, including fossil fuel-based power plants, ethanol production plants and industrial processes, as well as directly from the atmosphere. The program will focus on research, data, trends and information on all aspects of CCUS with the goal to help companies build knowledge, connect with others, and better understand the market and carbon utilization.View More
