EIA: Biofuel capacity down in May, feedstock use up

The USDA’s NASS released its latest quarterly Grain Stocks report on Sept. 29, reporting that old crop corn stocks on hand as of Sept. 1 were at 1.36 billion bushels, down 1 percent when compared to the same time last year.

U.S. fuel ethanol production fell by nearly 6 percent the week ending Sept. 15, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Sept. 20. Fuel ethanol stocks were up 2 percent and exports were up 60 percent.
