BASF on Sept. 30 announced the launch of xarvio BIOENERGY, an innovative low carbon intensity crops program that lowers, tracks and documents CI levels in corn grown for ethanol biofuel production in the U.S.
U.S. fuel ethanol production expanded by 2% the week ending Sept. 27, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Oct. 2. Stocks of fuel ethanol were down slightly, and exports were up 17%.
CARB has published additional proposed changes to its pending LCFS modifications, including those that aims to use of sunflower oil feedstock for biomass-based diesel production, and update regulations related to corn stover and biomethane.
